Napping Is Wonderful

After a little chat on the phone with Poupoune, I went for a nap. I slept about an hour and fifteen minutes. Now I’m ready to go until at least until 6 a.m. That’s a huge return on investment (of time).

A lot of people I know say they can’t sleep during the day. Me, it’s when I get my most restful sleep. The sounds coming from outside rock me to sleep. The only drawback is that I don’t want to be a day sleeper through the summer months. But although it feels unusually like summer these days, I can live with my current sleeping patterns knowing that it’s really only spring.

Back to School

No, I’m not thinking of going back to something quite as thorough as some people. Just a session or two at driving school.

I learned to drive 17 years ago with Young Drivers of Canada and have been accident- or collison-free for all that time. I credit YD’s defensive driving course for that. As you know, I’m thinking about replacing Homomobile soon, and my thought has been that his successor will have standard transmission. The problem is that I’ve never driven standard. So since YD has served me so well, I’m going to go learn with them.

I have a 1.5-hour lesson booked for 1 o’clock next Wednesday. We’ll determine from there how many, if any, 45-minute follow-up sessions I’ll need after that. But where I took to driving like a fish takes to water back in ’86, I suspect I won’t need a follow-up.
